The Southern Railway Hotel

Built in 1872, The Southern Railway Hotel has been part of Goulburn’s heartbeat for over 150 years. Originally known as the Southern Railway Hotel, it was a welcome stop for railway workers, travellers, and locals looking for a cold beer and a hearty meal.

Through the years, the pub has seen many faces and phases — but its soul has stayed the same. It’s a place where stories are shared over drinks, where live music fills the nights, and where visitors feel like locals.

Today, we continue that tradition. With a refreshed spirit and a deep respect for our roots, we offer more than just a bed and a bar — we offer a slice of local history, served with genuine hospitality.

Accommodation is under renovation however we have rooms available at the Empire Hotel and The Gordon Hotel

We are all so excited to offer, what we believe, is Goulburn’s finest food. Our focus is on fresh local produce for that genuine paddock to plate feel.

Our weekly blackboard specials offer our guests an ever changing seasonal menu with incredible seafood, pastas and premium cuts of meat.

Enjoy reimagined pub classics, a dedicated kids’ menu, and our popular Sunday roast – with lunch and dinner served seven days a week, and hearty breakfasts Monday to Saturday.
